Unlock the hidden insights of saliva diagnostics in Saliva Secrets: The Diagnostic Keys to
Periodontal and Systemic Diseases. This course dives deep into the transformative role of saliva testing in predicting and managing disease progression. Participants will learn to identify key pathogen biomarkers—including the leading culprit behind 60% of implant failures—to detect early signs of periodontal and systemic conditions, equipping them with valuable insights for proactive patient care.
From cutting-edge treatments— including lasers, airflow, tongue prophy, and the use of prebiotics, probiotics, and antifungals—to hands-on treatment planning, this course offers a practical, engaging approach. Attendees will apply diagnostic data through an interactive case study, refining their ability to create precise, individualized treatment protocols based on real test results. Perfect for forward-thinking clinicians, this course bridges the gap between diagnostics and personalized therapy in modern dentistry.
Course Objectives:
Participants in this course will gain knowledge in the following areas:
-

About our Speaker:
Lora Hooper, BSDH, RDH, EFDA, received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary certification from The Ohio State University in 1995. Then, in 2011, she became a Preceptor of the Bale Doneen Method. Lora continues her education through SSRP, Seeds Scientific Research & Performance Institute, completing their peptide program focusing on disease reversal and prevention at the cellular level. Her current passion is
applying this knowledge to the dental profession, moving from symptom suppression to disease reversal.
In 2017, Lora became the first dental hygienist in the nation to work for a cardiologist in an oral-systemic practice, integrating the Bale Doneen Method into care. In 2020, Lora moved full-time into the medical arena, where she began working as the Collaborative Care Coordinator for Dr. Gina Pritchard at the Prevent Clinic. Here, she uses her expertise in dental
knowledge, manages patient care, and incorporates her passion for improving patients' lives by integrating oral and general medicine into practice.
Lora is the dental speaker for MDVIP Cardio Collaboration and a visiting Faculty Member of the Pankey Institute. Her authority in the field is underscored by her membership in the ADHA, ODHA, AAOSH, and SSRP. She has over 29 years of clinical experience as a dental hygienist, having previously served as the CDHA's Continuing Education Chair and as a liaison
between the ODHA and the OSDB.
She is a Key Opinion Leader for the IDM Scholar Society, Prevent Clinic, MDVIP, and the Pankey Institute. Lora spends quality time with her husband and five children. In her spare time, she reads oral systemic health research. Fun facts about Lora include that she was a figure skater for The Ohio State University.
